Celebrating One Year with Kate
This month marks one year since Kate Underwood joined Nicholas Associates Group as a Business Analyst. Over the past 12 months, Kate has played an important role in helping the business better understand its data, processes, and opportunities for improvement. Through her analytical approach and collaborative mindset, she has supported teams across the Group by providing insights that help inform decisions and drive efficiency.
To mark her first year with the business, we caught up with Kate to reflect on her journey so far, what she’s learned along the way, and what she enjoys most about working within the Group.
What has stood out most to you in your first year as a Business Analyst?
The standout for me has been how enthusiastic and eager the teams are to innovate and evolve.
What types of projects have you most enjoyed working on so far?
I enjoy any work we do that removes a manual step and automates it. Saving one click at a time soon adds up.
How does your role help improve systems and processes across the business?
It’s important to be able to take a step back and think about the bigger picture. It’s very easy to get bogged down in tiny details. Having a non-operational person reviewing systems and processes allows for this perspective.
What are you looking forward to developing in year two?
Automating our manual processes for sure. I’m also excited to start integrating AI into our everyday work, not just for ad hoc tasks.
