Celebrating Jenny Begley’s 1 Year Work Anniversary with Nicholas Associates Group
We are excited to celebrate our Group Bid Manager Jenny Begley’s first year with Nicholas Associates Group!
Over the past twelve months, Jenny has significantly contributed to our business, and we’ve enjoyed watching her grow in her role. We sat with Jenny to learn about her experiences, insights, and reflections on what this year has meant to her. Check out her answers below.
Reflecting on your first year with Nicholas Associates Group, what are some of the most memorable moments or achievements?
In terms of achievements, I am incredibly proud of the number of formal proposals and tenders completed – I have never been so busy in my entire career! I am also delighted to have established a great reputation across the company and to have received Colleague Kudos nominations on several occasions.
What initially attracted you to this company, and has your experience matched your expectations?
I was initially drawn to the company because of its excellent reputation in the industry and my previous positive experiences working with two of its directors. Has it met my expectations? Absolutely! I am confident that I am contributing to a market-leading organisation, guided by exceptional leadership and supported by a knowledgeable and encouraging manager and wider team.
Have you learnt anything significant during your first year with Nicholas Associates Group?
I’ve learnt a significant amount about the port industry through the completion of several substantial port tenders. It has been a real learning curve and it still amazes me daily how much there is to learn!
How do you feel you’ve grown both personally and professionally during your time here?
I feel I’m slowly getting over my imposter syndrome, having built my confidence in responding to tenders in previously unknown sectors. Professionally, I have learnt to juggle a significant workload as a single bid professional rather than having the support of other bid writers. But I’ve loved every second!
What are your aspirations/goals for the next year of your career with Nicholas Associates Group?
As the company continues to expand, I am keen to engage in further large tender opportunities, particularly within the new markets we are targeting. I have a thirst for knowledge and am continually seeking to broaden my responsibilities. Additionally, I hope to achieve more account wins and contribute to the company’s growth. Bring it on!
