Celebrating Charity and Community Impact

Happy International Day of Charity

At Nicholas Associates Group, our mission is to enable people to be their best. This commitment extends beyond our business operations and into the communities we serve. Guided by our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) ethos of “Empowering People”, we are proud to support a wide range of charitable initiatives that create meaningful impact.

Over the past eight months, colleagues across our Group have dedicated time, energy, and resources to causes that make a tangible difference. On this International Day of Charity, we are pleased to reflect on the progress made and share some of the initiatives that highlight our ongoing commitment to giving back.

Our Recent Charitable Efforts

Erango, Olano, and Graduate Career Solutions Egg CollectionPlanting for the Future
Through our partnership with GreentheUK, we have planted 2,794 trees in UK woodlands. This initiative not only supports biodiversity but also contributes to tackling climate change and ensuring a healthier environment for future generations.

Be a Good Egg Appeal
Teams across the UK came together to donate thousands of Easter eggs to local charities. These contributions helped bring joy to families and children at an important time of year.

Honouring Harvey Willgoose
In memory of Harvey Willgoose, we proudly sponsored team kits for a charity football match following his tragic passing. The event brought communities together, raised vital funds, and provided an opportunity to show solidarity and support.

Climbing for a Cause
The Stafforce Cumbria team successfully scaled Scafell Pike, England’s highest mountain, raising over £400 for Eden Valley Hospice and Jigsaw. Both charities deliver essential support services in the region.

Olano Supports Thornberry Animal SanctuaryHands-On Animal Care
The Olano team dedicated their volunteering day to supporting Thornberry Animal Sanctuary, assisting with daily care routines and seeing firsthand the impact of their contribution.

Music in the Community
We continue to sponsor the Rotherham Symphony Orchestra programme, ensuring that music remains accessible and celebrated within the local community.

Supporting Construction Workers and Families
Nicholas Associates maintains its support for The Lighthouse Charity, which provides essential emotional, physical, and financial wellbeing services to construction workers and their families.

Graduate Support for Success
Graduate Career Solutions partnered with the London School of Science and Technology to support their Interview Wardrobe initiative, supplying professional attire to graduates to help them succeed in job interviews.

Looking Ahead

Our commitment to charity continues through a number of upcoming initiatives:

  • Olano’s Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge, raising funds for Thornberry Animal Sanctuary.

  • Annual Golf Day, bringing together businesses and colleagues to raise funds for Rotherham Holiday Aid. Take a look back at last year’s golf day here.

  • Marathon Walk, where our colleague Emma Mason will be walking a full marathon distance in aid of the Batten Disease Family Association. Learn more about it here.

  • Supporting Sporting Futures, with colleagues delivering an employment workshop alongside Rotherham Titans Rugby Club to help players prepare for careers beyond sport.

  • PHASE Worldwide Nepal Visit, our International charity partner, is offering colleagues the opportunity to see the outstanding work of our international charity partner in their project village.

  • Macmillan Coffee Morning, with teams preparing fundraising events to support Macmillan’s vital work.

Later this year, our Group-wide Christmas Appeal will also return, which remains one of the highlights of our charitable calendar.

Empowering People to Give Back

Our CSR ethos of “Empowering People” is reflected in the opportunities we create for our colleagues. Every team member who has completed their probation is entitled to one paid volunteer day per year to support a registered UK charity of their choice.

These efforts demonstrate the power of collective action. By working together, our colleagues, partners, and supporters are helping to strengthen communities and create opportunities where they are most needed. We are proud of what has been achieved so far and remain committed to building on this momentum in the months ahead.
