Creative Hunger
A morning meander along the River Don, absorbing the idyllic architecture of Sheffield’s industrial quarter. This didn’t feel like my normal morning commute on the bumpy X78. Rereading the agenda on my walk down, I was excited to satisfy my creative hunger in Kelham Island on my first away day with NA Consulting.
Located within the iconic independent Sheffield venue – The Chimney House, our team were welcomed in and charmed by the luxuriously quirky creative location. We were in The Living Room, a light and airy space filled with an abundance of gorgeous green plants. The space got us buzzing.
Together as a team we shared our ways of working, examined improvements and discussed our developing roles in the future. Letting loose and breaking away from the office allowed us to pinpoint how to stay creative, innovative and curious. As they say, to be creative is to stay hungry, no wonder Rob’s always snacking. Our team at NA Consulting boasts a diverse range of skills and personalities. Sharing our different problem-solving techniques and visions showed us how to explore, connect and analyse situations from different perspectives.
Trends and strategies are in a constant state of flux, so analysing and critiquing the market lets us know if we’re on the right path. Competitor research was an enjoyable group exercise and important in helping us see what’s happening in the L&D landscape. This followed on nicely to further discussions on our marketing strategy and sparked ideas for future campaigns.
Back to the office, this week I’ve noticed our team collaborating more and utilising peer review through the stages of our process. It’s great to work in a place where we can learn from each other and bounce ideas around together. This week I’ve learnt a lot about AfterEffects from Cal and have been exploring my work within character design.
Now we know the hidden talents in the team, we’ve been able to work together more cohesively and have been using the platform SkillShare to upskill further. It’s from constant curiosity and exploration that the best ideas bloom. This has been a big help with my current animation project, and I can’t wait to see where it can go. We’ve also been identifying projects that we’re proud to start feeding into our social media content to create some energy. After all, we want to expose the best-kept secret of Nicholas Associates Group.
